National Lawn Tennis Centre wins ‘Best of the Best’ prize at the British Council for Offices awards
The National Lawn Tennis Centre in Roehampton, south west London, has won the ‘Best of the Best’ award from the UK's leading office industry organisation, the British Council for Offices (BCO).
The awards were presented at the annual BCO awards ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London's Park Lane.
The British Council for Offices Awards, now in their seventeenth year, are presented to projects in six categories: Corporate Workplace, Commercial Workplace, Refurbished/Recycled Workplace, Fit-out of Workplace, Small Projects and Innovation.
The judges stated, “The centre is elegant, efficient and sustainable. All the space is high quality, with nothing wasted through compromise.”
Chairman of the judges Ron German commented, “This year’s Best of the Best won because it is essentially a simple building in many ways but executed with thoughtfulness and panache on a fixed budget. The client got exactly what they were looking for - an office that is a joy to work in and so obviously delivers on the client’s business case for creating an open, collaborative environment dedicated to excellence.”
MoreySmith limited were the interior designers jointly with Hopkins Architects on this winning project
