Emirates Glass Leaf Awards 2008, London, United Kingdom

Leading architects keen to enter the prestigious Emirates Glass Leaf Awards
Hundreds of leading and up-and-coming architects from all over the world are currently submitting entries for the prestigious Emirates Glass LEAF Awards 2008. Now in their fifth year, the awards have rapidly become one of the most prestigious worldwide architectural prizes, recognising excellence in architectural design and build. More than 250 key industry figures are lined up to attend the LEAF Awards 2008 which is set to be one of the most influential architectural and design events on this year's calendar.

LEAF awards are open to all companies, individuals and technologies that have made an outstanding contribution to international architecture. Winning a LEAF award or appearing in the shortlist can set your firm apart from the rest, giving the featured project both credibility and publicity. This year there are 9 award categories including the Grand Prix Winner which specifically focuses on the new build projects.

Last years winners included ARB Bank in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the Young Vic Theatre in London, UK. ARB, the farmers' bank designed by architects Skidmore, Owings and Merrill LLP, took the Overall Winner Award. It was conceived as a series of earth-forms within an active farmland that will change with seasons. The LEAF Public Building Award went to the Young Vic Theatre designed by Haworth Tompkins.

Entry is open to all architects with an office in Europe and buildings can be anywhere in the world. Winners will be judged by a panel of experts from the architectural sector and announced at an Awards dinner in London on 23 October 2008.
